  1. Here is the second version of this software.  I wrote the original version
  2. in assembly.  This version is done in C and probably a tiny bit slower.
  3. What will probably make the biggest difference is the speed of your hard
  4. drive and if you are running a disk cache.  Memory requirements are minimal-
  5. 20k or so.  This release is more robust than the other.  It should not eat
  6. files that do not contain the Apple header.  usage is simple:

  8. aplremuv source.gif destination.gif
  9.  
  10. source.gif is the name of the file being fixed
  11. destination.gif is the name of the file to create
  12.  
  13. It does not overwrite the original file.  If you specify a filename for the
  14. destination file that already exists, the software will complain.  All
  15. errors that get reported are self-explanatory.  Basically, it should be very
  16. difficult to screw this up.  Remember... I provide no warranties with this
  17. software, implied or otherwise.  I wrote this because I needed it.  If your
  18. computer blows up or you lose data... Bummer.  That is what backups are for.
  19. (Not that this is buggy, but you never know!).  OK, now that I have covered

  35. if you do just send money.  (Just kidding).  I just don't want anyone looking
  36. up my home phone number and calling me there.  That bugs me and I probably
  37. will not be helpful.  Finally, this is a fully functional version.  I don't
  38. write shareware to make a living.  It isn't going to stop working after
  39. a month.  If you do want to make a monetary contribution, that would be
  40. great.  (To be honest I would have a hard time justifying any more that
